Don Womeldorf

Appointed Forum Participant by the Southwestern Compact Commission in 1991

The Executive Director of the Southwestern Low-Level Radioactive Waste Commission since 1990, Don Womeldorf is responsible for the day-to-day communications and education activities of the commission.

Prior to beginning his work with the compact, Womeldorf was affiliated with California state government for nearly forty years. His state career includes positions with the California Department of Health Services, where he managed environmental health programs including California's low-level radioactive waste program.

Womeldorf received a bachelor's and a master's degree in biology from California State University at Fresno.
